Just last week, Big Bad Wolf organisers and chain bookstore, BookXcess, opened Malaysia’s first ever 24-hour outlet in Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya.

The outlet definitely proved to be a hit, with a huge number of customers visiting the store at all hours of the day, and loads of Malaysians took notice. Looks like a vast majority of us have the need to read!

The 37,000 square feet bookstore is definitely a big space, with a cafe and stage all in one place. Does this sound like paradise or what?

However, although everyone’s been loving this new outlet, some visitors haven’t exactly left the place the way they found it, with plastic wrappers thrown on the floor and books scattered about the desks in the store’s reading area. Come on lah, guys. Malaysia baru, but still got this mentality!

Although it’s upsetting to see such a mess in a newly opened bookstore, it is good to see a significant number of Malaysians also speaking out against such irresponsible behaviour.

Let’s do better and clean up after ourselves, especially when we’re in public spaces! What good is having a 24-hour store filled with precious books if we don’t treat it respectfully?
